Being on the water or at the shore is an integral part of who I am as an artist. Gazing at the horizon resets my equilibrium. These seascapes barely scratch the surface of all the wondrous color combinations of air and water. The emotional and visual nuances and complexities of our oceans and shorelines bring feelings of awe and gratefulness for the beauty of the world we live in. – Alison Haley Paul

My paintings are based on a foundation of travel opportunities, continuous exploration, and sheer curiosity. What I see, think, and feel during these journeys, gets transformed into color and texture, paint and canvas, which then becomes a personal story translated through art. The gestural and intuitive approach to the texture in my work is my language, my song, and my poetry. I don’t think about it much. I just turn on the lights and music and go paint. – Alison Haley Paul
