I am thrilled to introduce my newest show at Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery focusing on the beauty of flower fields. Combining romance, possibilities and dreams, this show seeks to reinterpret the perspective of florals by focusing on the vast, natural landscapes where these flowers originate. Through my work, I explore the beauty and serenity of these enticing fields, capturing the essence of where flowers truly flourish.

My new exploration with florals is deeply refreshing and intriguing, challenging the conventional view of flowers as mere objects in vases. By focusing on the fields and landscapes where these florals naturally grow, I’m inviting my audience to reconnect with the origins of the beauty we often take for granted. It’s not just about the flowers themselves, but about the untouched, raw land that nurtured them long before human hands intervened.

The historical black-and-white photographs of Southern California hanging in many of our local institutions, capture a time when the landscape was pure, unspoiled, and expansive—a stark contrast to the developed areas we see today. Evolving from these images, I’m aiming to highlight the beauty of the natural world but also prompting a reflection on how much has changed and what has been lost in the name of progress.

My art becomes a homage to this pristine landscape, offering a glimpse into the past, and a meditation on this land’s inherent beauty. Through my work, I’m creating a space for viewers to consider the foundational essence of the places we inhabit, encouraging them to see beyond the present and imagine the untouched beauty that once was.

As an artist I am perpetually distracted by the beauty and the glory of the world around us. I’m also inspired to work in many mediums and disciplines. As much of my work is inspired by photographs and photographic studies, that I usually intuitively combine and reinterpret on canvas from my visions and dreams, this is a sweet homage to my roving eye, my ever present camera, and my photography. I’m delighted to share that all the photographs used in this book are from my vast personal archives.
